Every day in Church of England churches there are services of prayer throughout the day called the Daily Offices. The Morning and Evening prayer services consist of bible readings including a psalm, intercessions (or prayers for others) and the Lords Prayer.
Every weekday except Wednesday in term time the Cathedral Choir sing Evening Prayer - this is called Evensong.
All people are most welcome to come and join in on these daily offices - even if only to sit and be in peace as the prayer goes on.

Some churches have prayer meetings where prayer is more informal and spontaneous.

Hereford Cathedral has a prayer group that meets every Tuesday morning at 10.30am. It is open to anyone who wishes to come as a visitor, regular member or an occasional member. Our format is to read the bible lessons set as the Lectionary Sunday readings for the Sunday following the Tuesday we meet, with time for reflection, intercession and prayer. This is a form of preparation for our Sunday worship.
We also pray for the long term sick who are on the Cathedral prayer request list on the first Tuesday of the month, the work of the Cathedral, Churches Together and members of the public who leave prayer requests.
Our Services are, 10.30 on a Sunday morning.
8am Holy Communion first Sunday of the month and 10am Holy Communion first Wed of the month.
